Ubud Monkey Forest! The paradise of MONKEYS!!

 

         In Ubud, Gianyar, Bali, there is a Forest that is specifically inhabited by monkeys from all size, color, and species! The Ubud Monkey Forest is located somewhere within the village of Padangtegal, which is a proud owner of this establishment. Not as a recreation spot only, the Ubud Monkey Forest is a spiritual, economic, and a conservation center for not only the monkeys, but for all Bali! In total, there are about 700 monkeys in total, 186 different species of plants and trees, and most of all, 12.5 hectares of forest for you to look around. Of course there will be restrictions, but the fun is unlimited!

            The Ubud Monkey Forest is open to public starting from 8:30 A.M in the morning, up until 6 P.M. in the evening! Ticketing service starts at 8:30 A.M. until 5:30 P.M. only! With this we can have a full day having fun with the monkeys and chill with nature for once in a while! Entrance fee is Rp 50,000 for an adult, and Rp 40,000 for a child.

            I hope you do not think that having fun with monkeys is the only thing you can do in Ubud Monkey forest! In fact, there are lots of spiritual, conservational events which is open to the public eye!

All across the fields, there are three main temples, which was all created from the 14th century! First first one is Pura Dalem Agung Padang Tegal, according to Hinduism, the temple is associated with Shiva and the souls of the uncremated dead. Pura Prajapati, which is associated with a graveyard nearby, and Pura Beji, a spring temple near a small river that runs through the grounds of the terrain!

Here are some tricks are tips for you guys if you want to have fun with monkeys! First of all, if you want the monkeys to come to you, do not forget to bring bananas with you! If you have bananas with you, do not pull back, or you can hesitate the monkeys! We all know that monkeys’ loves bananas! Some food that you are not allowed to feed the monkeys are peanuts, biscuits, bread, or any other human related snacks! Most important of all, if you want to keep and conserve the monkeys properly, please keep the environment clean, do not litter, and throw away for garbage at its specified locations!
